Town or Country?

1. How important is it to be close to work, facilities and amenities?
   many people are more comfortable being close to hospitals, schools, drugstores, grocery stores, etc.
2. Land and houses are cheaper in the country, but travel costs can be very expensive
3. Services - for example: houses in town have sidewalks, streets are repaired faster and in better condition than country roads, streets are plowed quicker, etc…
4. Higher property taxes in town – because of more services
5. Water & Sewer services-While you have to pay about $1 per day for municipal water and sewer services in town, you don’t have to worry about the costs and repairs of having your own well and septic in the country. Some smaller communities have septic services but no water.
6. Re-sale value and time to sell - In general, houses in communities sell faster and for a higher price than country homes
